This 128i is the first car I’ve seen that made me have a tinge Of buyer’s remorse with my 328xi. It’s a lovely blue, and it has M-Sport package, I don’t know if that’s a real handling package or just apperance. But you’ll see the bumpers, wheels, and some M interior bits, including a handsome M steering wheel.
I just have to keep reminding myself that I do need a sedan...ugh

No, you made the right choice. As I recall, your wife was giving you the business about your budget and tastes. But you found a car that was both what you wanted to pay, what you enjoyed, and you appeased her with two additional doors. 2 out of 3 = D+ = passing grade.

Yup. When I took the test drive and showed her the 328 her initial reaction was “it’s so grown up, and fancy” later she said “yeah I like it, it’s a nice car.” Which is more praise than she’s giving any of my other cars, except the 91 Civic, and that was after I told her the asking price. And she actually like riding/being seen in it. Usually her reaction to my cars is “Why would we take your car.” Although she does still prefer the upright seating in her Fit which I understand, but respectfully disagree.
On the pleasing the wife scale I’d give it a 8/10. One point off for being expensive to fuel, and another because she doesn’t enjoy driving it. In her words “the steering is too hard, and hood is too long, and it’s just too low.” You can guess all the reasons she likes her Fit.

“the steering hard, and hood is too long, and it’s just too low.”
Hey, you just described my IS! Those are things I like about it though. Although one more inch of ground clearance up front would be nice...
Yeah, see what happens when you buy your first luxury car? You’ve gone totally native!

I told my brother in law that she complained about the steering being too heavy and he looked at me and said “that’s why people buy BMWs.” Like it was as obvious as the badge bragging being the reason people buy a C class.
That’s the second time I’ve made fun of Mercedes since I bought a BMW. I’ve always felt that BMW is superior, I know it’s just my opinion but it’s one I feel stronglu about. It’s the same way I felt about Toyota when I was a Honda fanboy. Does that mean I’m a BMW fanboi now? Yes yes it does. Which funny wen. You consider that like 5 years ago I told a friend of mine, who owned a A4 2.7 quarttto, that I’d never own a BMW because they’re just to expensive and fancy.

Luckily for my wallet, a clean E91 was far beyond my budget.

My wife doesn’t drive stick so has never tried my steering.
She hates getting in and out of my car since the E92 is lower than the E90 and mine is lowered.
Also recently she was like, “why is everyone driving with their brights on????” I had to remind her that we were sitting lower down so that’s what everyone’s headlights look like.
Meanwhile I’m like, ehh it’s not that low.
